Cambridge students started their adventure in Prague and Vienna on Friday, 9 June, when they followed in the footsteps of their school mates who went on the same journey in April. For five days, the students enjoyed the wonders of these two European capitals which impress at first sight.
European destinations not to be missed
As one of Europe鈥檚 richest cities when it comes to history and culture, Prague and Vienna were an excellent choice for Savremena鈥檚 Cambridge Programme students鈥 study trip.
The Czech capital fascinated the students with its lavish artistic heritage, culture, architecture and bridges that connect the banks of the Vltava river. A visit to Hrad膷any, St Vitus Cathedral, St. George’s Basilica, Wenceslas Square left the students speechless. They were particularly interested in the story about the history and legends of the Charles Bridge. Unfortunately, due to the reconstruction of the famous astronomical clock, the students were unable to see it this time.
After two days of experiencing Prague, Savremena鈥檚 students headed for Vienna, the city of waltz and art, where they enjoyed the wonderful buildings of the Viennese Opera Hall, the Parliament, the University, and the theatres and museums the Austrian capital is famous for. The students visited St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Natural History Museum, as well as the lavish Sch枚nbrunn Palace. They ended their adventure in the most exciting way 鈥 with a daring visit to the Prater amusement park.
Savremena鈥檚 students returned to Belgrade enriched not only with new experience and knowledge, but also with new and stronger friendships, and they will always remember this unforgettable trip with smiles on their faces.
