In order to enhance critical thinking and research skills among students, the Student Council organised Media and Information Literacy Week at International School. Through a series of presentations, the Student Council aimed to equip students with the tools to comprehend reliable information sources and create high-quality texts.
Lower Secondary students, as well as Year 10 and Year 11 students delved into the crucial topic of “How to recognise a reliable text and find valid sources”, while Year 12 students focused on the topic of “How to write a quality text and find valid sources”.

Ma拧a Pa拧i膰 (Year 9) took charge of enlightening the Lower Secondary students with her presentation, while Aleksa Vuk膷evi膰 and Aleksandar Petrovi膰 (Year 12) held a presentation for Year 10 students. Year 11 students gained insights about the topic from Lea Zivlak and Lara Radivojevi膰 (Year 11), and Tijana Bugar膷i膰 and Nastasija 膼or膽evi膰 held a presentation for Year 12 students.
Understanding the credibility of information sources and honing the ability to create well-researched content is an essential skill in the digital age. In a world overloaded with information from various sources, the ability to recognise what is reliable and what is not has become of prime importance.
The Media and Information Literacy Week succeeded in empowering students with the necessary skills to navigate the digital landscape effectively.
